Theoretical:-

Nebulizer therapy is a cornerstone in the management of acute and chronic respiratory diseases. By delivering medications directly to the lower respiratory tract in aerosolized form, nebulization provides rapid symptom relief, improved lung function, and reduced systemic adverse effects. Its role becomes particularly significant during the winter season, when cold air, respiratory infections, and increased airway reactivity lead to a higher incidence of respiratory exacerbations. This article highlights the clinical importance, positive benefits, and seasonal relevance of nebulizer use, supported by scientific evidence.

Introduction

Respiratory diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), acute bronchitis, pneumonia, and upper respiratory tract infections are major causes of hospital visits, especially during colder months. Winter is associated with increased airway inflammation, bronchoconstriction, thickened respiratory secretions, and viral infections, all of which worsen respiratory symptoms.
